Como ahorrar energía con mi aire acondicionado

Una de las preguntas que constantemente me hacen los clientes es como pueden ahorrar energía en su casa, teniendo aires acondicionados en ella.
La respuesta puede ser un poco compleja ya que abarca varias variables a atacar para ser eficientes con el consumo de energía sin perder el confort.
Lo primero que hay que considerar es si el aire acondicionado esta sobre dimensionado. Suele ser algo incoherente en sobre dimensionar un aire acondicionado, pero es algo eficiente sobre dimensionar este, ya que permite que el aire acondicionado llegue pronto a la temperatura deseada, del caso contrario el compresor trabajará de más para no llegar al setpoint.
Otro punto es que tan eficiente es el aire acondicionado, en la mayoría de los casos la tecnología «Inverter» suele ser la más adecuada; este tipo de tecnología es adecuada cuando es poco el trafico que hay dentro del recinto, ejemplo: una habitación, oficinas o cualquier espacio donde no se habrá mucho las puertas o ventanas.

El siguiente punto es tratar que el espacio donde vayamos a utilizar el aire acondicionado este en lo posible aislado térmicamente de tal manera que no hayan fugas de temperaturas.
Y por ultimo uno de los puntos más importantes es colocar la temperatura deseada entre 23°C y 25°C, incluso teniendo todos los puntos anteriores este suele ser el punto de inflexión ya que si se coloca la temperatura entre estos rangos se podrían obtener ahorros desde un 20% hasta un 40% en el consumo de energía dependiendo de la tecnología del aire acondicionado.
No esta de más en no tener encendido el aire acondicionado si no hay ocupación, los comercializadores de estos equipos eficientes aseguran que es mejor no apagarlo, ya que así ahorran más. Pero haciendo análisis de carga eléctrica con diferentes variables hemos encontrado que esa afirmación es correcta si estas tres variables se cumplen:
1. La capacidad del aire es mayor a 10 toneladas (100.000 BTU).
2. La temperatura deseada este entre los 23°C y los 25°C.
3. El espacio se encuentre aislado termicamente de tal maneras que no hayan fugas.
Si no se cumplen las tres condiciones mencionadas y no se va ocupar el recinto por más de 20 minutos, es mejor apagar el aire acondicionado.
